Benihana’s dining room on Maiden Lane has long been popular amongst thrill-seeking Londoners and chef's table enthusiasts. But when the time comes for something a little more exclusive, the intimate and stylish private dining room at Benihana Covent Garden delivers an experience suited to all manner of occasions, from business meetings to family celebrations.
Nestled on the lower ground floor is the Benihana private dining room which boasts two separate teppanyaki tables accommodating a total of 16 guests. It’s an exclusive haven ideal for intimate gatherings, small company work dos, and birthday celebrations. Benihana is more than just a dining room - it’s a chance to experience the action of Japanese hibachi grill cooking in privacy and seclusion. You’ll watch as talented chefs wrestle the heat of the grill to dazzle you with flame-wrangling culinary skill.
Your private dining experience will begin with a party menu selection of classic Japanese starters including edamame, Benihana onion soup, a prawn appetiser, and a seasonal salad before moving onto a theatrical main course of teppanyaki cooking. The Benihana group and private dining menu offers a selection of dishes served with hibachi rice including succulent Teppan grilled chicken and steak with mushrooms, Ginza black cod with a miso glaze, hibachi prawns, and - if you feel like really pushing the boat out - a special treat of Canadian lobster to elevate your meal to the next level. If you’re feeling extra why not throw in some sushi or mixed tempura? As for dessert, expect a range of silky ice creams, mochi, banana tempura, or a classic vanilla cheesecake.
Of course, no Japanese dining experience would be complete without a selection of sakes. Fortunately, the selection here is large, comprehensive, and includes a full-bodied traditional brew - Kasumitsuru Kimoto Junmai - that is deep but smooth with a pronounced acidity.
