The restaurant's concept is inspired by the traditions of the Ayllu community of the Inca Empire. As the Ayllu lived and worked together, sharing their food and belongings, the restaurant's founders aim to create a similar feel with family-style feasts and menus that can be shared and enjoyed together.
Ayllu features menus including a la carte, tasting menus, brunch, and bento boxes. Parties of eight or more are required to select one of its tasting menus. They are a delightful choice and span an impressive eight or more courses, depending on which menu you choose. There are four different tasting menus to choose from including vegetarian, Tasting Lima, Cuzco, or Machu Picchu. You can indulge in dishes such as black cod which has been marinated for 48 hours, uramaki prawn, lomo saltado or a Peruvian BBQ.
The cocktail list includes signature Latin American drinks such as the Cubano with rum, fresh lime, pineapple, passionfruit syrup and fresh Latin American basil.
