Vivat Bacchus Farringdon, which opened its doors in 2003, brings a unique blend of South African-inspired cuisine and modern European flair to one of London’s coolest districts. Known for its exceptional wine selection and focus on premium meats and cheeses, the restaurant is a vibrant yet relaxed space where food and wine take centre stage. The décor is a stylish combination of rustic and contemporary elements, with exposed brick walls, wood accents, and shelves lined artfully with wine bottles.
For private dining and events, Vivat Bacchus Farringdon offers four distinctive rooms, each designed to accommodate a range of occasions. The Stellenbosch Room is named after South Africa's premier wine producing area and is perfect for intimate gatherings, seating up to 12 guests around an oak table and featuring its own private bar and champagne cellar, creating an exclusive feel.
The Robertson Room is a slightly larger space, seating 24, and is ideal for dinners or small receptions with capacity for 35 standing. Walls are hued mustard yellow and decorated with an array of eclectic artworks, and you can even open the space up to adjoin with the Constantia Room.
Speaking of which, the Constantia Room also seats 12 but has the option to host 20 guests for a standing event, providing a flexible and cosy space for both formal and casual gatherings. For larger events, the Franschhoek Room is the standout, accommodating up to 48 seated guests or 65 standing. This spacious room includes access to a walk-in wine cellar, making it an excellent choice for wine lovers and big celebrations alike. For even larger functions, all the rooms can be combined to host up to 85 seated guests or 150 for a standing reception.
