You can't overestimate the value of honest, simple Italian cuisine, and Vasco & Piero's Pavilion does just that. A stalwart of London's bustling Soho since the 1970s, this classic trattoria is a well-known, well-loved local in one of the capital's most vibrant areas. The restaurant reflects its ethos in both its menu and design, with the central space offering a traditional look thanks to its crisp, white tablecloths, classic bistro chairs and shaded wall lights.
If looking to book a larger table with an exclusive vibe, however, check out the private dining room which sits at the back of the venue. The Glass Room allows you to soak up the atmosphere of the main restaurant with just a transparent wall in between, which allows you also to enjoy your own conversations, uninterrupted. This space caters for 12 diners and the room can be transformed however you like, from new tablecloths and floral arrangements to balloons and banners.
When organising your booking, the team at Vasco & Piero's Pavilion will email you with a breadth of dishes on offer, asking you to narrow it down to a smaller curation that suits your guests best. This way, they can create a bespoke menu just for you and even customise it with a logo or picture to represent your group. For dessert, the restaurant is happy to provide some ideas, but if there's a specific cake or pudding you had in mind, feel free to share your ideas and they will do everything they can to make it happen.
The menu is heavily influenced by the owner's connections to Umbria, Italy, and so expect traditional dishes from the region. While it changes regularly, a taster of what you might expect includes handmade tagliatelle with traditional Umbrian beef and pork ragu, alongside grilled lamb cutlets with fresh herbs, peperonata and potatoes, as well as baked pancakes with spinach, ricotta and nutmeg.
