Thames Luxury Charters was set up in 1993 and has been throwing unique events with fine cuisine and live entertainment for nearly 30 years. Among its three well-maintained vessels are the Elizabethan, the Dixie Queen and the Edwardian, all of which are moored at Butler’s Wharf Pier and can be booked for a variety of routes along the river. Able to host any event for up to 620 guests, its luxury vessels can be hired for everything from conferences, meetings and company parties to summer soirees, product launches and weddings.
The Elizabethan - a replica of an 1890s, stern-wheeled Mississippi paddle steamer – can hold up to 235 guests at fully capacity, but can also be hired for fine dining events, seated buffets or a canape reception. Fully refurbished in 2020, this flexible boat offers a retractable roof on the upper deck to suit all seasons, while nine flat screen TV screens can be used to display conference presentations or photo albums for a birthday.
Dixie Queen, which is the biggest floating venue in town, is able to hold a staggering 620 guests. Her spacious layout also makes it flexible for all kinds of events, including birthdays, wedding receptions, corporate functions, product launches and more. It’s also centrally heated throughout, is able to hold a full brigade of chefs to cook up a special feast and can be decorated to suit your requirements.
Finally, the Edwardian offers guests a more classic British experience, with space for 90 guests. A luxurious venue for smaller events, make use of its upper deck in the summer with a drinks reception, before moving inside to its traditional dining room for a sit-down meal.
All vessels can moor at most of the piers in town and just outside, meaning private charters can include time alongside the London Eye, the Tower of London, Maritime Greenwich and more. A long-term partnership with FoodbyDish keeps the onboard catering shipshape.
