St Osyth Priory

St Osyth Priory is an incredible space like no other, which is steeped in over 1,400 years of history and legend. Whilst the Tendring venue has been a family home for over 20 years, it has been restored to be a perfect blend of tradition and comfort.

This country estate is a place of reverence and pilgrimage, with the legend of St Osyth being one that is famed throughout English folklore. During the Tudor era, Queen Elizabeth I visited St Osyth Priory twice after the Dissolution of the Monasteries. Today, whether you’re hosting a family affair, large corporate gathering or an engagement party, the Grade I, II*, and II listed buildings, which are set within a Grade II registered historic park and garden, are a fantastic place to celebrate.

There are many flexible spaces through St Osyth Priory and across its 350 acres of parklands which are suitable for meetings, retreats and team building activities, as well as celebrations of life, retirement parties and anniversaries. The events team will help you to mark special moments with a plan that ticks all of your boxes, all set amongst an idyllic backdrop. Because your event is unlike any other, the venue offers bespoke packages which can cater to your needs and requirements.

The unique space is yours for the duration of your event, and so the team will ensure it's decorating to fit with your event style. The Gallery is a regal room with glowing chandeliers and can accommodate up to 110 of your guests, the same number as The Great Hall which is flooded with natural lighting. A unique event space, Abbots Tower is smaller, with space for 60, and is possibly one of the most unique event spaces that you could hope to find.
