Whether you're a passionate medieval reenactment enthusiast or you're planning a stag, hen, or work outing, Now Strike Archery is the perfect spot to string up a bow or pick up a throwing axe and test your coordination! Based in a 400 year old barn and workshop in Heybridge, not far from the River Blackwater, Now Strike Archery specialises in fun experiences, taster sessions and masterclasses based around medieval weaponry.
Now Strike Archery makes a fantastic day out for corporate groups, teambuilding events and the like, with a huge range of taster and beginner classes available. The two hour archery taster session, for example, is a great way to get to grips with the famous English longbow - Now Strike Archery's expert team of instructors are on hand to turn you into a competent archer in the space of just a couple of hours, or at the very least, to make sure that you have fun! The team will teach you the basics before challenging you with targets at progressively further distances.
Now Strike Archery offers a lot more than just archery - if you're more interested in learning how to make arrows than how to fire them, sign up for one of Now Strike Archery's arrow-making courses, or even a bow-making course. There's a working forge on site as well, which means that arrow smithing and blacksmithing courses are available too, so you can learn how to smith your own blade.
Axe throwing makes for a popular teambuilding day out, and Now Strike Archery offers hour-long instructed sessions where you'll get to test your arm strength with a variety of throwing weapons, from Viking throwing axes to spears.
If you’d like something outside of the usual experience days, get in touch with the Now Archery Team to see what they can do, as they also occasionally offer cross bow shooting and even a Medieval sword school. There's even a semiautomatic cross bow for you to try out!
