Hoof & Hook in Tenterden, Kent, is a sustainable, seasonal restaurant, founded by the owners of a local farm, just down the road. It offers not only a gorgeous main dining room, housed in this historic building, but a private dining space on the first floor that can be exclusively yours for birthday parties, corporate events or even a wedding breakfast.
Named The Blue Room, this space has enough capacity for 40 to 50 people, and brings together the best of old and new. High ceilings, rustic beams and huge, arched windows, sit next to contemporary design decisions, like teal-blue walls, velvet sofas and an atmospherically-lit bar. Hued in jewel tones, it's a stylish space split into dining tables and a lounge space, and makes for a beautiful backdrop. Catering is all provided in house, of course, and the team have gone to great lengths to create a sophisticated but delicious menu.
Kick things off with a round of cocktails, you'll find all the classics on the list, as well as new twists on old classics. We like the sound of the Kiwi Margarita with kiwi, tequila, Triple Sec, lime juice and agave syrup, while the Lavender Dream mixes vodka, lemon juice, egg white and lavender syrup. After which, some canapes give guests a chance to mingle and chat. There's three types, including classic options like mini beef burger sliders alongside pork and onion sausage rolls, as well as inspired bites like crispy sushi rice, pumpkin, wild mushrooms and shallots, plus premium, such as crab and lobster in brioche roll with lemon gel and Pink Lady Apple.
As for the main meal, your guests have their pick of three course, with options like seared duck carpaccio, red pepper puree with soy sauce, crispy leeks and sesame for starters, beef short rib with artichokes, broad beans and red wine for mains, and coconut panna cotta with passion fruit, raspberries and mint oil for mains.
