Chotto Matte is a luxurious, vibrant dining concept in the heart of buzzing Soho, bringing together Japanese and Peruvian cuisine under one roof. The two-floor restaurant has multiple spaces for private dining events and the events team proudly welcome a range of bookings, from weddings and hen dos to corporate meetings and networking events, for both lunch and dinner bookings, seven days a week.
Foodies will love the blend of these two cultures which both highlight fresh fish and seasonal ingredients at the heart of their cuisines. Executive chef Jordan Sclare has prepared a selection of sample menus and is happy to discuss your preferences. To get a feel of what's on offer, though, think wagyu beef gyoza with Teriyaki veal jus and wasabi stem, alongside yellowtail Nikkei sashimi with cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, coriander and yuzu truffle soy, as well as black cod aji miso with chili miso marinade, yuzu and chives.
In terms of events spaces, Chotto Matte has plenty to offer with more informal areas such as the Lava Lounge on the ground floor acting as the perfect spot for networking, drinks and nibbles receptions, or get togethers with friends. With cool, curved furniture and a 70s colour palette, it's a great place to bring together 40 seated or 60 standing, and can easily be combine with other bar areas on this floor.
For a semi-private dining space, the first floor has the fabulous 'Itamae' area which benefits from bold furnishings and the live sushi counter, so that you guests can witness the drama and precision of this special art. Here, 40 people can be seated and you can even request extra exclusivity with a partitian.
Further to this, the entire first floor can be taken over and made your own with a capacity of 220 people standing, or 140 seated. Or, if you really want to throw the party of the century, speak to the team about the entire venue hire which has a total capacity of 400 standing or 240 seated.
