There's nowhere better to host a Christmas party than the heart of bustling Soho, which especially at Christmas time, is full of sparkling lights and festive decorations. Here lies Chotto Matte, a vibrant, lavish dining concept which brings together two fascinating cultures - Japanese and Peruvian - for a menu packed full with flavour.
Chotto Matte is well versed in throwing every kind of event, from weddings to corporate dos, so it goes without saying that your Christmas party is in very good hands. The restaurant is set over two floors and has a design-led, atmospheric vibe with rich colour palettes and dynamic spaces that can work for either cocktails and nibbles, or seated dinners.
For example, The Lava Lounge is a 70s-style space, found on the ground floor and full of curved sofas and mustard-hued booths. Here, 40 of your guests can sit and enjoy a light meal, or increase that number to 60 for just drinks. If imagining a much larger party, take over an entire floor. The ground floor boasts a capacty of 120 seated, while the first floor can take between 140 and 220. Those who are throwing a festive shindig for perhaps the entire company or invited to take over the entire restaurant, which has a total standing capacity of 400 people, or 240 seated. Now, that sounds seriously impressive - doesn't it?
In terms of the food, the team have put together a selection of set and tasting menus for group diners which you can peruse on the website and choose between. The signature tasting menu sounds particularly good and includes Amazonian BBQ salmon, truffled corn ribs and slow cooked braised beef with purple potato purée and teriyaki jus. There's also plenty of vegetarian options and as the restaurant rates its steaks, there's the option to go for those instead.
