While the historic Chaucer Barn in Norfolk has won awards for being one of the top ten wedding venues in the country, the team welcomes every kind of shindig and are more than happy to host you for birthdays, corporate events, away days, brand launches and more.
Set in 20 acres of grounds, the first thing you should know about Chaucer Barn is that its stunning gardens make it truly unique. From the stone circle to the wildflower meadow and decorative hedges, cut into huge pyramids as well as long, twirling shapes, there's so much for you and your guests to see. Host drinks out on the lawns, hire a marquee or enjoy a communal picnic, the team encourages you to bring the flair of your own personality.
The main venue is the barn itself which is a huge, lovingly-converted original building brimming with original features. Here, you can enjoy dinner and dancing in the main hall, or on the terrace outside in the warmer months. You're invited to decorate the space however you like, and there are no limitations on suppliers either - feel free to use whichever caterer works for you.
Our favourite thing about Chaucer Barn has to be its incredible accommodation options. First of all, within the barn there's space enough for 18 guests and it can be all yours for a week or weekend. It has a homely feel, with all the mod cons, too, and makes for a wonderful place to host a workshop or weekend retreat. As if that weren't enough, then there's the eco lodges which have enough space to cater for a further 20 people. There are two larger lodges and three smaller, each with wood-burning stoves and incredible views. Plus, thanks to the venue's fantastic location, there's all of Norfolk to explore, with plenty of sights, landmarks and activities nearby, too.
