About Chaucer Barn Christmas

There's no time to celebrate like Christmas and if you're planning an all-out party for the festive period, be it for family, friends or your work colleagues, Chaucer Barn in Norfolk has everything you need. This historic estate boasts a beautiful, lovingly-restored barn conversion with main space for events, as well as accommodation to make a weekend of it.

You're welcome to decorate the barn however you like and the team actually encourages guests to put their own spin on the place - so you're free to create your own winter wonderland! As the property is self catering, you are also invited to use your own choice of caterers, with no stipulations on approved suppliers. Whether you fancy a turkey with all the trimmings, Mexican-inspired feast or something totally different, again it's up to you.

One of the best things about Chaucer Barn, though, is that you can turn your Christmas event into a mini staycation. The barn itself, as well as having the main events space, features gorgeous big lounges and living spaces, decked out with huge sofas and even a fire. In the barn, up to 18 people can stay the night, so whether you're hosting an away day for your office or a big get together for family and friends, you can all stay together and make a real holiday of it.

But even better yet, that isn't the only accommodation on offer. In fact, Chaucer Barn's 20 acres are also home to five cutting-edge, self-contained eco lodges hidden in the woods. There are two larger lodges and three smaller, which together can host up to 20 people with wood-burning stoves, mood lighting and amazing views. This is something totally unique to Chaucer Barn and will really impress your guests.

Finally, although it'll be chilly, do take a walk around the amazing grounds which feature a stone circle and topiary hedges, cut into all sorts of whimsical shapes.

The main open plan area is cathedral-like in proportion, but has a warm cosy feel, being filled with an Aga, English oak and heated York stone floor. A walk-in larder leads off the fully equipped kitchen. Bask in the morning sunshine of the Sun Room with a coffee overlooking the knot garden and terrace.
