With so many venue options in London, it all depends on what you're looking for. And, if you're imagining a boutique, neighbourhood spot on the famed Portobello Road with a focus on fresh, sustainable fare then we think you'll like Bertie Blossoms.
A true independent, the small, close-knit team here are incredibly passionate about giving the best service to their regulars, working with local suppliers and British farmers and creating a lively atmosphere - whether you're just popping by for a drink or booking your birthday party here.
You'll instantly recognise this quirky spot for its verdently green exterior and in the summer months this unfolds onto the street with outdoor chairs and tables, perfect for al fresco dining. Inside, there's an intimate dining space on the tiny ground floor, running alongside the statement bar often decorated in fairy lights and florals. Follow the period staircase onto the upper level mezzanine and here lies a cosy snug with bohemian rugs and sinkable chairs, perfect for drinks, speeches, socialising and in the past, there's even been mini gigs here.
You can take over a few tables or easily hire the entire space. Previously, Bertie Blossoms has been the backdrop to wedding days and milestone celebrations as well as quirky corporate gatherings and brand activations. The team ask that you get in touch to discuss your event and they can relay all the details from capacity to hire fees.
As for food, while this space might be small, it's food and drinks offering is definitely mighty and as mentioned, the menu is hyper-seasonal and ingredient led. Because of this, you won't find a menu online, but check out Instagram for some past dishes. For example, we love the sound of the delica pumpkin, chanterelle and sage linguine, especially when followed by a Spiced Pumpkin Martini.
