The Grand Hotel Birmingham is one of the city's most luxurious spots, having been built in 1879 and designed by renowned architect Thomson Plevins. Over the years it's hosted everyone from royalty to rockstars, and after a £50 million renovation, it is once again ready to welcome you to shake a tail feather and dance the night away.
This Christmas, The Grand is enthusiastically welcoming Christmas party bookings across its nine events spaces, but there's one in particular we think you should see. The Grand Ballroom is an absolute show-stopper, covering 3,340 square feet and with a capacity to host up to 300 guests. It boasts a double-height ceiling, huge windows and an ornate, listed, Louis XIV-style interior which will wow your guests on the night.
The space also features a mezzanine-style, internal balcony which is a fabulous place to host VIPs or perhaps invite friends or colleagues to enjoy a glass of fizz. Hoisted up in the arched eaves, the wrought iron balconies look spectacular.
Across the other events suites, you'll find five versatile meeting and occasion rooms which can be reconfigured for whatever you might need and boast period detailing, lots of natural light and plenty of space. At a maximum, these can hold up to 112 people for a sit-down meal, making it the perfect option for a large team or whole company get-together.
All catering is provided in house and because of the way the kitchens are set up, no outdoor catering is allowed, so you can let the events team guide you from start to finish throughout your experience. In the Grand Ballroom, for example, guests have been known to enjoy a five course banquet as well as a charming afternoon tea, anything is possible so just chat to the team about what you'd like.
