The Coach is a long-standing boozer in Clerkenwell which has been reimagined as a charming gastropub with rooms. It’s also a Christmas party venue, welcoming groups of friends for festive catch-ups, as well as more formal office parties.
For intimate Christmas celebrations with friends or family, The Coach will be serving special three-course festive menus. For Christmas parties, guests can choose between dishes such as pot-roasted Christmas spice rubbed Challan half duck with soubise and a liquorice reduction or Wagyu beef fat marinated native Brittany lobster, with salsify, artichoke, creamy rice and lobster coral. Guests can round off their meal with seasonal puddings such as black cherry and winter citrus frangipane tart. Guests visiting on Christmas Day itself will dine from a set three-course menu, with a choice of four options per course. Starters include cream of butternut squash with conte fondue, truffle shavings and puff rice, followed by main courses such as traditional bronze turkey with all the trimmings, plus thyme-scented gravy. To finish, tuck into tempting desserts such as Christmas pudding flambe with sherry and toffee sauce.
More formal Christmas parties, including annual office bashes, are welcome at The Coach too. There are three dedicated private spaces to hire, the most intimate of which is The Blue Room - a private dining room decked out in shades of royal blue which can welcome up to 10 seated guests.
The Coach’s second private space is The Garden Room and Terrace, which can accommodate up to 40 seated guests. This spacious room benefits from plenty of natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, making it ideal for afternoon soirees that go on into the night. The third and final space at The Coach is also its largest. The first-floor dining room can welcome 50 seated guests or 70 standing, with pastel tones and natural light making this a relaxed and warm proposition.
