The Old Vicarage is a country house wedding venue near the village of Hinton in Hampshire. Built in 1852, the house and gardens are exclusive use only, with Hinton Admiral Train station only 300 yards away down a private footpath. The result is a secluded countryside setting that is still readily accessible, the ideal place to gather together loved ones for a day of celebrations.
The gardens and secret pathways are the ideal spaces to capture those all-important wedding photos, especially during the setting sun on the large open lawns. The Old Vicarage is also licensed to conduct civil ceremonies. Indoor ceremonies take place in The Orangery, complete with high vaulted ceilings, rustic beams, sparkling chandeliers, and views across the gardens and beyond. This makes for the perfect blank canvas for the couple to decorate to their own personal tastes.
Helping every step of the way in this and any other wedding-related planning is a dedicated wedding coordinator. By offering this service, The Old Vicarage ensures the smooth running of every single ceremony, meaning the couple can just focus on what matters to them. Outdoor ceremonies are available from April to October and hosted in the Garden Summer House. This gives the option of working down a flower-lined aisle and straight into the charming wooden pavilion.
With the ceremony complete, it’s time for drinks on the lawn. Guests and the couple can take in the bamboo archways, woodland walks, colourful wildflowers, tucked away summer house, and even a cricket pitch, providing yet more photo opportunities. The wedding breakfast can either be in the Marquee (April to October) or the Main House (all year). The Old Vicarage works with several local caterers, meaning there is usually a cuisine and style of food on offer to suit most tastes. Once the evening reception is over, the wedding party can stay in one of six hotel rooms.
