The Crown & Thistle has a rich history dating back to 1605. But, the venue as you see it today reopened its doors back in 2013 following a £1.3 million restoration. A Grade II listed coaching inn, The Crown & Thistle is the venue for you if you’re looking for somewhere with charm, beauty and character in equal measure. Individual buildings, a cobbled courtyard and framing of 200 year old wisteria make up the beautiful venue, whilst much of the building’s original charms still remain. The hotel has a great atmosphere because of its history, and so the decor matches the 17th century building, with tastefully named rooms, each named after famous Oxonians.
Weddings can be held in the barn, a historic and homely setting for your vow exchange. Eclectic and charming, this spot is great for informal and smaller weddings, blessings and civil ceremonies.
