The Clockspire is a destination restaurant and venue set against the Somerset coastline in a breathtaking, period building. Originally built by Sir William Medlycott in 1864 as a school, the building has changed guises over the years and has now received the attention and care it deserves to bring back its former glory.
While historic features have been appreciated and maintained, the interiors have received a thoughtful revamp to bring them into the 21st century, providing a stunning backdrop for any couple who are looking for a dramatic, unique setting for their big day. Think atmospheric stone walls, huge, modern chandeliers and an intricate oak ceiling which will wow your guests as soon as they set food inside.
There are three space options to consider for your wedding day, starting with the central restaurant which has capacity for 30 guests. Here, your loved ones can enjoy the sprawling windows and beautiful light that they let in, as well as those statement chandeliers and arched ceiling.
The West Wing offers the next option with space for 40 guests. Beautiful artworks hang on the walls, sumptuous curtains offer a sense of intimacy and sophisticated booths give socialising a cosy feel. Finally, the Mezzanine Bar sits on a higher level looking over the main restaurant and boasts a marble topped bar and luxurious velvet seating. Here, there's capacity for 40 guests and it's a gorgeous place to enjoy a glass of champagne and a canape before sitting down for dinner.
The Clockspire works on a minimum spend basis which makes it an accessible wedding day option, and each space can be taken over seperately or combined, to make the restaurant entirely yours. We love the idea of moving guests through each space for different times of the day and making the experience feel even longer.
