Known as the 'Garden of England', Kent is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places across the UK. And so, if you've been imagining a fairytale wedding for your big day, you'll want to Solton Manor, a Grade II Listed country house in the heart of nine acres of gorgeous gardens.
Built in 1086, the manor is brimming in over 1,000 years of history, boasting a Tudor Hall and inglenook fireplace, alongside huge windows and period wall panelling. It's like being a Lord or Lady, just for the day! The team here are well versed in planning weddings and love to make each day as unique and special as possible.
The day will start, for one of you at least, in the Dovecote Cottage - a pretty, authentic cottage on the grounds, close to the main hall. The bridal party is welcome from 7am and there's even a pamper room for you to get ready in, while drinks and snacks are served.
Onto the ceremony, and you can choose between the Dutch Barn with its lofty ceilings and rustic wooden pillars, with a capacity of 150, or Godric's Garden, set within an ancient church and walled garden for tying the knot outside. This option also hosts 150 people, and sees the two of you say your vows underneath an oak-framed gazebo.
For the wedding breakfast, the team will help you transform the Dutch Barn to suit whatever theme you had in mind. While most things will be provided, any extra flourishes you need can be sourced by the venue's trusted suppliers. And, once the meal is eaten and speeches are done, it's time to let your hair down and enjoy full use of the stage, dance floor, sound system, lights, as well as a fully serviced bar.
