A market town in North Hertfordshire, Hitchin is a great spot for commuters into the city (it’s just 35 miles away), due to its close proximity and blend of quiet life and convenient location. A town that dates back to the 7th century, at the very least, Hitchin has so much history and firmly established itself as a major centre for grain trading after the Corn Exchange in the 1800s. Wandering around the town, you may notice spots are the backdrop of various films and television programmes, such as Dr Foster, My Policeman and The World’s End. Strolling through the town you will be walking on quaint, cobblestones and get the chance to shop in the many independent boutiques, before taking a bite to eat in a charming cafe. In Hitchin, there’s also a thousand-year-old church and a market square where you can often catch a live musical performance.
