Dabton House offers a unique opportunity for your wedding day in Dumfriesshire. A spectacular Georgian country house, built in 1820, and surrounded by magnificent gardens; it can be yours exclusively for two days for your wedding, between March to August, and with limited availability over Christmas.
You see, Dabton's stunning interiors are perfect for hosting your guests - the house has capacity for up to 24 and facilities for self catering. But, all wedding ceremonies and receptions are held in the grounds, so they prefer to keep things sunny, and focus on the summer months!
Open air ceremonies are an unforgettable way to tie the knot, with two location options including the front lawn with capacity for 100 guests, and the tennis courts, with a capacity of 200 guests. When it comes to your reception, if the weather's fine, Dabton's secluded gardens are a magical place to host drinks and dinner, while the tennis courts are suited to set up of the marquee. With clear, roll up sides, you'll still have a gorgeous view!
While the details can all be discussed and fine-tuned with the team, Dabton's website offers a sample wedding package. Here, couples are offered three nights exclusive use of the house for 22 guests, plus two infants; a wedding ceremony and reception space for up to 80 guests; a dedicated events planner; and a special events tipi with generators, toilets and facilities.
Catering is provided in house, and the team have a well-oiled system offering a three-course meal, canapes and bar provision. The canape menu sounds delicious with a large selection including aubergine caviar, Haggis bon bons with Whisky dipping sauce and mini Croque Monsieur. While dishes from the sit-down meal include starters such as pea velouté with crispy parma ham, pickled peas and crème fraiche, alongside mains like Gressingham Duck with fondant potato and griddled baby gem.
