Whether you're looking for an intimate wedding or want a larger celebration, this is a beautiful venue to consider. There's the hall or lakeside venue, and with a maximum wedding breakfast capacity of 160 guests, you can have a fairytale wedding at Capesthorne Hall. The lakeside gazebo is absolutely perfect for outdoor weddings, and is a tree lined space creating a natural wedding aisle. If you want your wedding outside but not near the lake, take a look at the woodland dome, which is a smaller outdoor gazebo that is found in an ancient woodland behind the hall with views over the lower pool.
Ceremony Capacity: 100
With its magnificent chandeliers and Italian paintings, the Drawing Room is used for civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests. All civil ceremonies at Capesthorne are conducted by Cheshire East Registrars.

Seated Wedding Breakfast Capacity: 80
With its ornate fireplace, the Queen Anne room is usually used for wedding breakfasts and has space for up to 80 guests. For larger numbers, the wedding breakfast can be held in the Lakeside.
Reception Capacity: 120
A beautiful room for your drinks receptions and canapés, leading out onto the Terrace with steps down to the West Lawn. This is also the ideal room to display and cut your wedding cake, surrounded by all your guests.
Seated Wedding Breakfast Capacity: 160
The Lakeside can be hired together with the Hall or independently (subject to guest numbers). This space can be used for civil ceremonies and wedding breakfasts for up to 160 guests and offers wonderful, elevated views across the formal gardens towards the lake. All evening receptions are held in the Lakeside. With capacity for up to 180 guests, it provides a stunning location with a dance area under the starlit canopy to end your fabulous day.

A quick note to say a huge thank you for all your help in the lead up to our wedding and a fabulous day on Saturday. I’m admittedly a bit of a control freak but Lynn, you absolutely put me at ease from the initial viewing, to answering all my erratic questions and executing a gorgeous event on Saturday. We felt we were in the safest hands and really appreciate you taking all the stress from us on the day. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.

On the day everything was perfect and flowed so smoothly,and we even got a wedding topper back in one piece!. We will hold Capesthorne Hall in a special place in our heart, and will visit frequently. I cannot believe that we haven't been before in 60 years, after living only 40 minutes away. Guests were very impressed with everything , the grounds,hall, Lakeside and you will be getting a site booking soon from our friends! We scoured Cheshire for over 5 months to find reception venues. Capesthorne was our last visit, and we knew it would be perfect, and on a further visit Alyssia and Tim were delighted. We loved the setup of the hall, followed by the Lakeside venue and luckily guests also managed to have the drinks reception outside on the terrace. As quite a perfectionist one thing stood out immediately when we came for the first visit, the grounds are well maintained and pristine, a far cry from some of the wedding venues we visited. Little things like this make a huge difference. Just lovely to see the pots of tulips coming into bloom outside the accommodation and around the grounds.....well done and thanks to all involved. Every member of staff we ever met was incredibly lovely, friendly and helpful. We wish Capesthorne Hall every success in future events. .Thank you!!

We would definitely recommend Capesthorne Hall to any of our friends and family for their wedding venue! It’s the perfect setting for any size of wedding party and you can easily make it your own. We had around 100 guests and used both the main hall and the lakeside suite on the day of our wedding, which offered the mix of the impressive stately hall to wow our guests on arrival with welcome drinks and canapés, then the bright and modern wedding breakfast and dancing location to continue the celebrations into the evening. Lucy and the team were amazing at coordinating our day. Lucy was our main point of contact, she was so lovely, professional and very organised. She made everything run so smoothly in the run up to the big day and on the day itself. Our wedding party also stayed in the on site accommodation, which is beautifully decorated and spacious. Our family were very impressed and it was so nice to all wake up the day after and have breakfast together while looking out onto the stunning lake and gardens. It was a truly magical venue!

Having joined the team in 2010, Kath brings her wealth and knowledge with over 30 years of experience in the communications and event management industry. Having previously worked for Barclays Bank, across a number of roles, one of which required her to organise corporate events for the senior management team. Now working as the operations manager at Capesthorne, Kath utilises her organisational skills when looking after the filming that takes place on site, as well as overlooking the onsite accommodation and helping to organise events and weddings.
Lynn’s background is in corporate and hospitality, with years of experience that were brought to Capesthorne back in 2017 when she took on the role of events manager. It’s through this, as well as her positive attitude, that she delivers such exceptional events, always providing top quality customer service to help create the best possible experience for her customers. Lynn is an animal and nature lover and can always be found out exploring the outdoors whenever she’s not working.
Lucy joined the Capesthorne team back in 2019 when she started in her role as wedding and events coordinator. Her background in hospitality has been vital to helping her look after the weddings and larger events that take place on the site and ensuring that they run as smoothly as possible. Lucy brings a real passion and drive and bubbly personality to the role, helping to make each wedding as special as possible for the happy couple. In her spare time, Lucy is currently renovating her first house. But whenever she gets the chance, you’ll find her planning her next holiday!
After gaining a first-class degree in creative events management, Beth moved to the Capesthorne team where she’s been since April 2022. Despite only being there for a short time, she has already organised and overseen a number of successful events using her talent for both design and marketing. Beth runs the social media channels, helping to promote Capesthorne Hall and bring in new clients for the team through various networking opportunities. Beth brings her enthusiasm and sense of humour to the team, making sure that everyone is always laughing.

Yes, a marquee can be hired in if required. There are several siting locations within the grounds and formal gardens.

Yes, you will be assigned a dedicated wedding coordinator.
Can we use external caterers at Capesthorne Hall?
An external caterer will only be considered if our contracted and recommended caterers are unavailable or cannot do the type of cuisine required.
