Broadfield is a wedding venue near Hereford. Mentioned in the Domesday Book when it was likely just an acre of land, by the 14th century it had risen to prominence in the area, with the manor house being complimented by its own private chapel. Once the Tudor period arrived, Broadfield had fallen into disrepair as a home but was given a new lease of life as a farmhouse. It wasn’t until 1825 that it would be returned to its former glory. The original medieval building was updated to a Gothic mansion complete with gargoyles, a coat of arms, finials, and stucco. Fast forward to today, and Broadfield has been updated once more, resulting in a wedding venue that expertly combines nearly 1,000 years of history with the best of modern hospitality.
All weddings at Broadfield are exclusive use for up to two nights. Couples have several options for where they can get married within the venue. Larger, outdoor ceremonies can take place in the fold yard, magical woodland, one of the many lawns, and even in the apple orchard. Outdoor ceremonies can be up to 170 guests, depending on location. Smaller outdoor ceremonies can happen near enough anywhere in the grounds that takes the couple’s fancy.
Indoor ceremonies are hosted in one of two rooms. The drawing room can hold up to 60 guests and has a full length bay window that overlooks a beautifully designed rose garden. For even more intimate ceremonies, there’s the inner hall, which seats up to 50 guests and is framed by an enormous, elegantly carved stone fireplace.
Options for the wedding breakfast and reception are equally as numerous. Larger parties are usually housed in a marquee on the lawn, while weddings of around 75 guests can use the upper barn, complete with period features.
Broadfield partners with a huge range of local caterers, meaning the wedding breakfast can feature a cuisine and structure to suit most tastes. Those who want to use their own caterers are also equally as welcome.
