Inspired by the grand cafes of Europe, Bellanger has the look and feel of a classic French brasserie, all white table cloths, red booths and atmospheric lighting. Since 2015, it has been a stalwart of Islington with a great spot in the heart of the neighbourhood, much loved by locals and tourists alike.
If you're planning a city wedding, Bellanger's stunning Victorian building, packed with period features and art deco furnishings makes for a classically stylish backdrop to your big day. And, while the main restaurant has a certain je n'ais ce quoi, for special events the team recommend taking over the private dining room which has recently been given a revamp.
Situated at the back of the restaurant, this elegant space is informed by dark wooden flooring and period-style wall panelling, painted in a sophisticated pale grey. Antique mirrors bring the space alive, complementing the ornate cornicing and Art Deco lighting. The space can cater for 50 people, either on rounded, smaller tables or two long banquet style ones, both offering a lovely option for a wedding breakfast.
In the day time, large windows mean that the space is flooded with natural light, while at night it becomes illuminated with the romantic glow of candle light. Each wedding booking will receive its own events coordinator to ensure the smooth running of your day and Bellanger offers complimentary seasonal floral decorations, too. You are, of course, also welcome to decorate the room however you wish at your own expense, and your coordinator can help arrange the execution of this.
Another great thing about the Bellanger's private dining room is that there is no hire fee, just a minimum spend which ensures that your nearest and dearest have a fantastic night, and who can say fairer than that? In terms of menus, transport yourself to warmer southern France climes with Bellanger's selection of event menus. The menus are full of fresh seasonal flavours and can accomodate any occasion.
