It has origins dating back to the Saxon times around 837 AD, and was then owned by the Martyn family who were a huge influence in the Wars of The Roses and then the early Tudor reign. The house saw extensions through the Tudor and Elizabethean period and became a humble farmhouse until 1891, when it was restored by a young Victorian gentleman who created the incredible gardens.

It's a wedding venue that combines beautifully historic rooms with magnificent gardens, a choice of reception rooms and accommodation for your closest guests. The venue offers exclusive use on Saturdays throughout the year, and have a team eager to get started on planning your wedding – from the event coordinators to the chefs and service staff, all there to make your big day absolutely picture perfect. This Grade II listed manor house is licensed to host civil ceremonies and can fit 120 of your guests in a formal ceremony setting, but expands to 300 guests for evening receptions. The Main House is great for smaller celebrations and the Coach House is a lovely choice for your evening reception, so there is much to choose from.
