For a taste of contemporary Ghanaian cuisine without enduring a lengthy flight, you can head to the Institute of Light in London Fields, where this former Pop Brixton outfit has taken up residency. The Zoe in question is Zoe Adjonyoh, who oversees a menu of Ghanaian-inspired dishes, with small plates including cassava crisps with scotch bonnet salsa, and ‘red red bean stew’. Larger dishes meanwhile see jollof chicken with lettuce wraps, and plantain pork belly. Those waiting to watch a film in the Institute’s cinema can try out the short menu of cinema snacks, including akara fritters, okra and kelewele, alongside a pre-showing drink. Keep an eye out for a regular schedule of events too, including one-off dinners and collaborations with London chefs, hosted by Zoe herself.
