Yida Sushi is an Islington-based family-run restaurant with talented Japanese chefs preparing fresh European-infused Japanese dishes. There’s a range of delicious sushi, alongside a host of other authentic Japanese fare on offer here.
Just a short walk from Highbury and Islington station stands Yida Sushi, self-described as ‘one of the most exciting new restaurants to hit Islington.’ This cosy spot has a small but bright dining room, with polished wooden tables and a sleek counter papered with Japanese artwork and pictures of sushi. Paper lanterns with Japanese characters are strung across the ceiling and an impressive plant stands at the door, offering pops of colour. Also, if you fancy dining al fresco, the venue also boasts a veranda out the back.
Yida Sushi have cultivated strong relationships with the best local suppliers in order to ensure the highest quality ingredients possible. Fresh meat, fish and vegetables are delivered daily and used to produce all the tasty authentic dishes.
The menu places focus on good presentation, reasonable prices and delicious food. True to its name, the main attraction here is the sushi, and the options range from the classics, such as California rolls, spicy tuna, and salmon and avocado, to the intriguingly named dragon sushi (with ell, tobiko, asparagus and avocado) and rainbow sushi (scallop with salmon, tuna, and avocado outside).
Not the biggest sushi fan? There are plenty of other Japanese dishes to tuck into, including seafood tempura, fish, chicken, beef or tofu teriyaki, and seafood sashimi. Main dishes offer a range of meatier options, such as roasted pork belly with green beans and peri-peri hoi sin, and truffle rib-eye steak with chilli sauce.
If you’re unsure of what to order, Yida Sushi has your back with their set meals and platters featuring all the smash hits from the menu. Everything is also available as takeaway, so you can enjoy fine Japanese flavours right in your own home.
