Bang opposite the Assembly Rooms, this bustling bistro is something of a stalwart of the Bath restaurant scene (run by the Price family since 1979) and it continues to pull hordes of enthusiastic locals with its honest, hearty cooking and easygoing atmosphere. A weekly-changing menu majors on the simple treatment of good quality ingredients (lamb casserole with garlic and rosemary for instance) and prices are reasonable, especially if you take one of the set price menu options (set lunch and early dinner, for example, is £16.95 for two courses).
