Is there anything more decadent than a glass of sparkling wine and fresh oysters? Well, now you know the place to go for such a treat, as Flute Seafood Cafe & Bar offers a menu of the freshest catches from across Devon and Cornwall, with perfectly-matched drinks, in the heart of Bath. Found on buzzing George Street, Flute is open from breakfast until late, with a range of expansive menus to suit whatever the occasion.
If starting the day with brunch, try a delicious time-appropriate cocktail like the Breakfast Martini which mixes Chase marmalade vodka, fair kumquat, orange and Bristol grapefruit sherbet. New brunch classics look like the bacon and scallop roll (we'd love to try one of those!) and lobster benedict on an English muffin. On the main menu, starters look like champagne poached oysters or dressed crab with Flute's potato salad and focaccia, while mains of skate wing with brown butter sauce or hake, hot and sour broth sound delicious. Top it off with crab and hollandaise fries for a real wow moment.
For dessert, it has to be the burnt basque cheesecake with a shortbread base and vanilla filling. More of a cocktail than dessert person? How about Dante's Peanut Butter Martini with Yellowstone Select Bourbon, Sheepdog Peanut Butter, butterscotch, frangelico and cream. In the evening, the team invites you to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink in the Octopus Lounge Bar, a chic, atmospheric space for an expertly-mixed cocktail. We like the sound of the Champagne Old Fashioned with Four Roses Bourbon, angostura bitters, Champagne cordial with mandarin and orange bitters. There's also a brilliant selection of wines, including English Sparkling from Somerset and East Sussex.
If you're looking for somewhere to host a private party, Flute Seafood Cafe & Bar is also available to hire with capacity for up to 40 guests, so have a chat with the team.
