The setting of this substantial, historic house in 12 acres of mature gardens is pretty hard to beat, especially when you factor in easy access from the M40 (just two miles away). Its Manor Restaurant is rather impressive, too, showing care in sourcing local ingredients & delivering a modern British menu offering such dishes as fillet of mackerel with warm potato salad & grain mustard sauce ahead of Gressingham duck breast teamed with herb risotto, or sea bass with young spinach leaves & saffron sauce. Nice touches on the dessert list include Belgian chocolate layered with cappuccino mousse.
