Victor’s is a neighbourhood restaurant like no other. Located in the bustling Westgate centre, this coastal-themed haven offers delicate modern American fare, exotic cocktails, afternoon tea and more. Children, vegetarians and vegans are well-catered to here, while sushi-lovers will have a field day. The interiors are elegantly furnished, lined with plush banquettes and crowned by a ceiling of dangling wisteria and lanterns. Plates are similarly decorative, with many arriving adorned by edible flowers.
There is an extensive selection of all-day cocktails available here, including fresh options like a basil gimlet alongside more sultry options like a Japanese negroni. Sharers and dessert cocktails are on offer too, including a vanilla latte martini. When it comes to food, diners can start with a choice of more European snacks, such as sourdough, giant olives, avocado hummus, halloumi and Padron peppers.
Sushi occupies almost half the a la carte menu here, providing a huge amount of choice. Diners can sample everything from spicy hand-picked Devon crab rolls to kingfish sashimi, or go all-in with the full sushi set. Elsewhere you’ll see the likes of panko squid, shrimp tempura and seared scallops. Larger plates include pizzette, with toppings such as ‘nduja, pickled red chilli and mozzarella or white sauce, smoked feta and fresh parsley. Meatier options are also on offer here, including steaks, wild garlic roast chicken and the house burger. There are plenty of dessert options to choose from, from pared-back options like affogato to the more over-the-top, such as a raspberry baked Alaska.
In the mornings, meanwhile, you can expect the likes of pancakes stacks, fry ups, eggs Benedict or granola, with the option of a bloody Mary, mimosa or breakfast martini for those looking for a boozy start to the day. Sunday roasts occur from noon, and those present can enjoy live music from two in the afternoon onwards.
