Showing a bit of thigh in the City since 2007, decadent Volupté offers a heady mix of cocktails, entertainment and supper-club shenanigans. Dinner/show deals are laid on twice nightly in the Cabaret Salon downstairs, where a line-up of burlesque, circus, song and magic vies for attention with unashamedly rich culinary pleasures along the lines of chicken-liver and foie-gras parfait with Maraschino cherries, sirloin of beef with Barolo and balsamic butter, and bitter chocolate and honey marquise. Volupté also houses the Bon Bon Bar, a ‘sweet shoppe' speakeasy screening old movies and dispensing saccharine-toned cocktails: the ‘liquorice lady' (black Sambuca and vodka) comes with a liquorice lace; other creations can be customised with a sherbet rim. Volupté's boozy afternoon teas (Saturdays only) are a good start to a debauched night out.
