Calling itself ‘the future of fast food’, Vegan Shack offers up vegan versions of all your favourite fast-food options. It’s got multiple sites across the UK, including this one at Piccadilly Gardens. The food on offer at Vegan Shack is 100% plant-based - impressive, considering the huge range of dishes on its menu.
Let’s start with breakfast at Vegan Shack, served 9:20-11am. With options that rival a McDonalds breakfast, you’re really spoilt for choice. There’s a ‘Shack muffin’ filled with a sausage style patty, tofu, and ketchup, and a Breakfast Bagel with Cheeze, ‘bacon’ style rashes, fried tofu, and ketchup. If those aren’t piquing your interest, you can opt for pancakes with syrup or butter, or a portion of deliciously crispy hash browns…. All vegan!
When it comes to lunch and dinner, there are even more exciting plant-based options. There’s a Chick’n Wrap, a Shack Salad (with vegan chick’n or vegan shrimp), or some mouth-watering BBQ loaded fries. If you’re after a burger, there are plenty of variations to choose from: deep fried vegan chick’n, faux fish fillet, and Beyond Meat patties, for instance. Sides are the perfect accompaniment to your main: chick’n tenders, nuggets, and some fun Tater Tots, seasoned with vegan garlic and herb butter.
All these options might fill you up and be more than enough. If, however, you want to finish off on something sweet, then you can also get your vegan dessert fix at Vegan Shack. There’s soft serve ice cream, deep-fried apple pie, American style sweet tea, and an impressive range of vegan milkshakes.
All in all, a pretty exciting selection of vegan goods. The venue itself is relaxed and a typical fast food set up – no need to book, for example. If you’re looking for somewhere quick and easy to nip in for a filling (and pretty carb-heavy), vegan meal, then this one will be ideal.
