Despite being attached to the Hilton London Hyde Park Hotel, Urban Meadow manages to maintain a separate identity, with its own roadside entrance, concertina frontage and a superb summer terrace. The vibe suggests an easy-going café/bar/restaurant, with the hotel’s obvious clout adding some genuine quality here and there. Careful sourcing is high on the agenda, with beers from the likes of Kernel Brewery and London Fields demonstrating plenty of thought in the drinks department. Meanwhile, excellent, hand-sized burgers, cooked to order and served in a brioche bun, completely exceed expectations, likewise a truly original lemon-curd sundae for dessert. The open-plan dining room, with its leaf motifs and assorted pot plants, maintains a laid-back feel throughout the day, while grab-and-go offerings such as chorizo sausage rolls mean this is an excellent spot for a holiday jaunt in Hyde Park.
