The first café in the North Park area of the newly redeveloped Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Unity Kitchen Café is part of a social-enterprise events space staffed by people with disabilities.
Tricked out in bright, modern Scandinavian style with lots of blonde wood, tall ceilings and skylights, it deals in grab-and-go salad pots, sandwiches, baguettes and wraps bolstered by ‘sweet
treats’, various hot dishes and daily specials – perhaps celery, celeriac and rocket soup, fish pie with broccoli, or braised lamb shank curry with sag aloo. The emphasis is on locally sourced
ingredients given an international spin, and they serve breakfast, weekend brunch and ‘great coffee’ too. It’s right next to the Tumbling Bay children’s playground, and handily placed for the
Velodrome and the Copper Box.
