Brewdog has rebooted Underdog, its clandestine bar-within-a-bar, reopening it as Two-Bit. All of two minutes appears to have been devoted to decorative tweaks; this cellar bar still looks like a post-Depression tavern in the Tennessee boondocks. What is new, is a range of pinball machines and amusement arcade games aimed at retro-tech geeks: try your luck with Tron; revisit The Battle of Midway; or engage in spaceship shootout, Pleiads (first launched, 1981). High-quality US craft beers are dispensed from a beer wall – and also available in taster flights of four at £9.90. These beauties might include strong stuff from Colorado outfit Oskar Blues; Ska Brewing; Odell’s; Brooklyn’s Evil Twin Hipster and Westbrook White Thai (a South Carolina-brewed Belgian-style witbier with flavourings such as lemongrass and ginger). Kick back with a Pickleback and a shot of bourbon or whiskey from a range that’s anything but two-bit and let the button-bashing begin!
