Turtle Bay brought the Caribbean with it when it laid its roots in Norwich. Positioned between Friars Quay and Norwich castle, as well as being near to the beautiful Chapelfield gardens, this is the perfect spot to come for a vibrant breakfast or lunch or even a lively evening meal with friends. The interior is full of energy; set to the backdrop of an industrial setting is a mish mash of colours, furniture and wall paintings as well as the sounds of cocktail shakers and open fire pits. From the moment you walk in you realise this is not the average chain as you see the hollowed out caravan in the middle of the space which acts as a unique seating area.
The food is just as energetic, starting off with a list of punchy small plates that are perfect if you just want to come for some cocktails, think things like garlic pit prawns and jerk wings. The main menu is broad, ranging from simple classics like buddha bowls, burgers and rotis to West Indian curries and soul food, all of which can be enjoyed with a long list of sides. The breakfast menu, like the rest of the menu, is heavily tinged by soul and Caribbean with things like the Kingston Grill Down, featuring jerk bacon and sausages.
The drinks list features everything you might want but focuses on punchy cocktails and a long list of specialist rums. Perhaps the best time to enjoy the cocktails is during one of the daily happy hours or even during the famed bottomless brunch. The bottomless brunch offering sees you, and the whole table, enjoy two hours of bottomless cocktails, mocktails, beer or Prosecco as well as certain menu items from the brunch, burger and roti menu. With options that are sure to suit almost any mood or requirement as well as some unrivalled energy, this is a great place to come for a bit of fun.
