In the centre of Liverpool Turtle Bay offers up some colourful Caribbean vibes. Next to both the river, Tate Liverpool and the Maritime Museum this is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or a lively evening out for drinks and food to restore your energy after a day in the city. From the outside draping lights in the window give little away of the energetic space inside which sees wacky furniture, an open kitchen and the sound of cocktail shakers surrounded by vibrant colours and wall art. The space has a quirky and fun feel to it and at any time the atmosphere has a buzz to it.
The Caribbean-infused all-day menu gives way to a lot of choice: breakfast includes things like a sausage and bacon roti wrap whilst the main menu offers up some soul food with West Indian curries and Jerk pit dishes ranging from pit salmon to sirloin. Some lighter options include Buddha bowls, fresh roti and burgers. A range of tempting small plates work well as starters or small accompaniments with some drinks, think chilli cheese roti and halloumi with watermelon. The indulgence needn’t finish there with things like rum and raisin pudding and ginger cake to finish.
The drinks list has everything you might want on it with a focus on innovative and classic cocktails, like the Funky Kingston - prosecco, strawberry, grapefruit crush, lemon juice and vermouth - and Mojito. Turtle Bay offers both two for one cocktails during daily happy hours as well as bottomless cocktails during the bottomless brunches every day which allows you to select certain items from the menu as well as the option of bottomless cocktails, mocktails, Prosecco or beer. Despite Turtle Bay being a chain, it offers unquestionable energy and is a great choice for anyone who doesn’t want anything too complicated and a bit of fun.
