Trapdoor is a restaurant and bar in the O2 that conjured the urban cool of The Bronx through unique art installations and innovative food and drink menus. As you head inside, Trapdoor transports you from North Greenwich to the gritty streets of New York; skateboard decks line the walls, and graffitied murals are dotted around the room. As the sun sets outside, live DJs bang out sets until midnight, turning the bar into a seductive underground club.
The drinks menu matches Trapdoor's unique design, and is focused around signature cocktails made in house. If you love a classic cocktail, Trapdoor's mixologists can make all your favourites, from a Brandy Manhattan to a Mezcal Negroni. Otherwise, why not branch out and try one of the innovative in-house mixes, like the Little Red Rooster (Rye whiskey, peach liqueur, orange bitters and grenadine), or the Midnight oil (Rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth and angostura bitters). Naturally, the drinks list also has plenty more to choose from, including mocktails, beers (bottled and on draught), soft drinks, wines and large pitchers of Long Island Ice Tea and Rumberry Punch to share.
Meanwhile, the food menu is packed full of international favourites and has something for everyone. Groups can share nibbles on vegetarian and meat platters - perfect if you're looking for something to snack on with a cocktail. For something a little more substantial, get stuck into steaks from the grill, or a rotisserie chicken, or a range of burgers, varying from a classic double cheeseburger, or a hot pastrami burger with Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles.
That's not all - save room for dessert because Trapdoor has sweet options aplenty, ranging from salted caramel tart, or peach and berry cobbler with vanilla cream, to a range of ice cream sundaes. There's also a compact kids menu to keep the little ones happy.
