Topolabamba is the place to be in Glasgow if you want to enjoy authentic Mexican street food in a fun, vibrant and colourful environment – with the frequent promise of live entertainment and plenty of laughs.
Nibbles can be enjoyed as starters to your main meal, on the side of your dish or amongst the table as sharers. Choose from Mexican slaw, green rice, and salt and chilli pepper fries, along with crazy corn, guacamole and ensalada cream. The house salsas are made fresh every day, including flavours of roasted salsa brava, pico di gallo and tomatillo salsa verde. All of the street food dishes are made for sharing, so you are encouraged to order three to four dishes per person to share and get a taste of everything. First up are the ever popular tacos, made with soft corn tortillas and your choice of filling. There's chipotle and honey pork, carne asada steak, chicken tinga, barbacoa beef and mushroom and butternut squash.
Quesadillas are stuffed with smoked chorizo and quesos, roast vegetables in chipotle chilli and smoked chicken with Oaxacan onions. Tostadas have similar fillings, but a few different flavour options, such as the prawn, cucumber salsa and guacamole, along with the shredded beef with spring onion, chipotle aioli and crumbly cheese. Classics dishes are made for sharing also, and reflect a true taste of Mexico, with chorizo and black pudding chilaquiles made with baked chorizo and black pudding salsa on tortilla chips topped with an egg, and the jalapeno poppers with molito cheese and corn. The big boys are the larger plates, and include options of chipotle honey ribs that are dry rubbed with a delicious glaze, and the pulled poblano chicken mole enchiladas.
