The sixth branch of this affordable noodle bar has Notting Hillbillies slurping away happily: Tonkotsu has earned a reputation for steaming, flavourful ramens made from painstakingly perfected house-made noodles and chilli oil. At the Notting Hill branch, the open plan kitchen and bar set-up means diners can see their ramens, gyoza and house special tonkotsus (topped with melt-in-the-mouth pork belly and a soft-boiled egg) being prepared. There’s plenty of Japanese beer, saké and wine to assuage anticipation though, and service is another plus point, so the wait won’t be too long.
