Essentially a wood & brass-decorated Fuller’s hostelry on a busy road, The Warwick Arms is making a name for itself locally by virtue of its curry-house food. It still plays the part of a local boozer at lunchtime, dishing up standard pub grub for the regulars, but in the evenings it rolls out an extensive Indian menu. Expect all the usual suspects: baltis & bhunas, rogan josh & dhansaks, & a smattering of more interesting possibilities such as bhindi dupiaza or chicken har mirch in a delicately spiced sauce. A Keats-themed cubbyhole for six to eight people is a cosy place if you’re merely intent on sampling a few pints of regular Fuller’s brews such as Discovery or ESB or fancy a game of Scrabble or Monopoly.
