Located on Chigwell Row, the Two Brewers is a spacious and cosy pub with crackling open fires and a well stocked bar. The Two Brewers truly is a perfect place to enjoy your favourite tipple and dine from the fresh daily menu.
While you wait and peruse the menu, enjoy some warm bread with oil and balsamic, or nocellara, gaeta and ceriogniona olives. The menu is changed before midday each day, so you can always find something new on the menu. Starters include the leek and potato soup with a warm sourdough bread, a chicken liver pate with fig chutney and toasted bloomer, pan fried scallops with butternut squash puree and sea vegetables, and a delicious plate of baked camembert with roasted grapes, walnuts and pink peppercorn crostini.
There are always pub classics on the menu, like the steak burger with beer onions, grilled pancetta, Monteray Jack cheese, a spiced tomato mayonnaise and fries, and a tandoori halloumi burger with carrot and red onion bhajis, mango chutney, slaw and fried. Lighter classics include the honey roasted ham with fried egg and chips, and some smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes with tomato and a spring onion salad. Be sure to try some of the changing mains, whether the black garlic and rosemary belly pork with pickled apple puree and pancetta croquettes, or the Appleby's Cheshire cheese, onion and potato pie with buttered greens and a rich, redcurrant gravy.
Puddings include a triple chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, a tiramisu with espresso ice cream, and a delicious hot waffle with caramelised banana, toffee sauce and honeycomb ice cream. If you prefer a savoury way to end your meal, order the cheese and port plate, that comes with a selection of local cheeses, grapes, chutney and biscuits.
