If you’re a member of the RHS, or like to enjoy the beautiful and great British outdoors, you may find yourself at RHS Garden Wisley. If you do stumble across this haven in Woking, you’ll be pleased to walk into The Terrace Restaurant – a beautifully designed, light and airy, elegant restaurant that serves up weekend brunches, seasonal lunches and traditional afternoon tea. The bar is fully licensed, too, so you can order a delicious drink with your meal.
The brunch menu is served on weekends only, between the hours of 9 and 10.45am. Begin your day with a continental breakfast including a plain croissant, strawberry jam, butter, yoghurt and compote, or opt for scrambled eggs and? crushed avocado with coriander and mild chilli on toasted sourdough bread. The seasonal weekday lunch menu is served until 3pm, and diners can sit indoors or on the outdoor terrace. Start your meal with a salad of watermelon, feta, shallots and pumpkin seeds with mint and cucumber gel, before moving onto pan fried seabass with fennel, courgette, heirloom tomatoes, capers, prawn bisque and olive tapenade and ending on a sugary high with a lemongrass panna cotta with pineapple, strawberry, passion fruit and a brandy snap.
The delightful afternoon tea is available for pre-bookings only, and is paired wonderfully well with the beautiful surroundings, creating a quintessential British experience. Expect to find savoury bites including Coronation chicken sandwiches and egg and cress salad, along with homemade scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam, and a selection of the finest homemade afternoon tea cakes. Your meal is served with either a selection of coffees, a pot of organic loose-leaf tea, or sparkling English wine. If there are little ones in your party, they can enjoy the afternoon tea experience, too, with a selection of sandwiches, sweet treats and a glass of milk, hot chocolate or juice.
