Get your phones at the ready for this Instagram-worthy restaurant with a trendy, buzzy vibe; the Skinny Kitchen has something for everyone. The pair behind this modern eatery next to Islington’s Business Design Centre have worked hard to channel the concept’s Ibiza origins into Instagram-worthy, island-inspired interiors that manage to be both vibrant and serene at the same time.
Plenty of lush greenery hangs from the ceilings, while the juxtaposition of pretty floor tiles with shiny parquet flooring, and high and low tables and chairs make the space a feast for the eyes (and your smartphone). Pale pink wall tiles, forest green upholstery and soft lighting complete the look that’s as warm and inviting during the day as it is in the evenings.
Whether you pop in for a hearty but healthy solo coffee or breakfast, weekend bottomless brunch with friends, lunch with colleagues or a romantic evening meal for two, you’ll find the menu brimming with colourful dishes that promise to leave you feeling satisfied and virtuous – the best combination, if you ask us.
The kitchen creates fresh, nutritious food for all diets, to help you keep a check on exactly what you are putting into your body. So, whether you’re pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, on a low-fat diet or after a big protein hit, the Skinny Kitchen has got you covered with something delicious.
On the breakfast menu, you’ll find the likes of poké toast, sweetcorn fritters and peanut butter and jam pancakes, while for brunch there are delectable dishes such as the chicken satay bowl, sweet potato burrito and various burgers. Dinner takes the form of sharing plates and tacos – chicken skewers, cheese quesadillas, salmon ceviche – all of which go perfectly with cocktails – rounded off nicely with desserts such as warm apple crumble and ice cream. We don’t know about you but all of that sounds very tempting.
