Duck & Waffle’s former executive head chef, Dan Doherty, took over this Marylebone boozer in the summer of 2018. He has decided against a massive refurbishment, preferring to keep things traditional, so you’ll be treated to the same cosy interiors as before, along with large windows that flood the interior with natural light. The regularly changing food menu is modern European in outlook, but it champions the best of British produce. Cured meats from Cannon & Cannon of Borough Market are usually available to kick-start a meal, and can be followed by mains such as beef with artichokes and brown yuzu butter. The drinks list is equally Euro-influenced, with wines including Prosecco and Champagne. There are beers too, of course (with real ales from the likes of Atom), which you can enjoy with bar snacks of Scotch eggs, deep-fried olives and sausage rolls.
