The Rose Inn, Wickhambreaux, Canterbury, is a classic British pub located on The Street, overlooking the pretty village green. The Rose Inn pub sits in a building dating back to the 1300’s, it has been tastefully modernised and decorated throughout. The interior is cosy and tasteful, with exposed brickwork and wooden beams, fireplaces and wooden tables. The menu is designed using local, seasonal produce which has been sustainably sourced wherever possible.
Due to supply and season the menu is regularly changing, however an example of the dishes you may find at The Rose Inn include starters such as caponata on olive toast, and cold roast pork served with a green bean chutney. Main dishes may include a braised courgette served with saffron and curd, and a roast chicken served with white bean and pancetta. There is also a Dexter beef dish served with horseradish cream, and a grey mullet served with braised fennel and green sauce.
The menu is designed to celebrate local producers and suppliers wherever possible, you will also find daily specials available. Those with a sweet tooth may enjoy the baked cheesecake served with raspberries, or the chocolate pot served with creme fraiche and hazelnut. There is also the option to have a cheese course, which is served with fennel chutney and fruit loaf.
The Rose Inn also has a large garden with tables and an outdoor bar which is great for the warmer months. Chef and Publican Billy Stock has recently taken the reins at The Rose Inn, designing a menu that celebrates all things local, with an aim to create a vibrant and welcoming community village pub. The Rose Inn is also within close proximity to Wingham Wildlife Park and the Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve.
