Located just past Hackney Central station is this East London branch of The Pizza Room. It’s one of five branches in the capital. The others are in Mile End, Poplar, Surrey Quays and New Cross.
All pizzas are made from 72 hour fermented dough and stone-baked to order. Toppings are firmly grounded in the traditional. The range of signature pizzas includes the all seasons (chicken, pepperoni, ham, black olives, roasted peppers), Siciliana (anchovies, capers, black olives) and autumn (ham, pecorino, mushrooms).
There’s also two gourmet pizzas. These are pear and gorgonzola or butternut squash and goat’s cheese. Completing the pizza line up is the vegan range, which runs to six options total. This includes vegan veggie (mushrooms, roasted peppers, courgettes) and red hot chilli peppers (green chilis, onions, lentils, roasted peppers, black olives).
Pizzas can be accompanied by a selection of side dishes. Garlic bread is served three ways: with parma ham, hummus or cheese. Those after something lighter can opt for one of the salads. These include rocket and pecorino, caprese and cherry tomatoes with onions.
The Pizza Room also has three deals. Lunch pizza is a 12” one topping pizza for £8.50; baby pizza is a 7” one topping pizza for £5.96; thirsty is two cocktails for £14.50.
