The Pavillion is the on-site restaurant for Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club in Hampshire, serving up hearty pub food in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. It's a charming place to go for lunch or dinner with family or friends while watching or playing sport, or simply as a local who wants to enjoy the classic interiors and traditional menu.
Set in a pretty, white building with a wrap-around veranda, surrounded by quiet countryside, it's an undoubtedly beautiful place to enjoy a meal. Inside, the sharp interiors make a feature of the cricket ground's history displaying memorabilia and trophies. In the summer months, take advantage of the al fresco dining areas and balcony which benefit from great views.
In the week, an all-day dining menu is served from midday offering a three-course lunch or dinner, as well as light bites and a kids' menu. There's a curated selection of starters on offer which have something for everyone, from pork and duck pate to buffalo chicken wings and soup of the day. For the main event, choose between classic pub grub like fish and chips, a generous beef burger topped with bacon and Monterey Jack cheese or a sirloin steak and chips. There are also some vegetarian and plant-based options like mixed bean and root vegetable stew and spinach and ricotta tortellini tossed in green pesto.
If you're in the mood for pizza you're in luck, as the restaurant does a whole pizza menu with toppings like ham and mushroom, as well as caramelised red onions with mozzarella and mushrooms, or good ol' pepperoni. Light bites are also available for those stopping by for a quick snack; we like the sound of the bacon, brie and tomato panini or ham, cheese and tomato wrap, all of which are served with salad and crisps.
For dessert, those with a sweet tooth will enjoy tucking into the likes of a Belgian waffle with toffee or chocolate sauce and ice cream, or perhaps chocolate fondant with raspberry coulis and ice cream.
