About

Throughout history, The Packe Arms has borne different names that reflect the rich tapestry of their past. In the 18th century, they proudly bore the moniker of "The Marquis of Granby," a homage to the valiant military hero of that era. However, the current name, "The Packe Arms," pays homage to a distinguished Victorian family of esteemed landowners from Leicester, known as The Packes.

It was Charles James Packe, a prominent member of this illustrious family, who took it upon himself to restore and revitalise The Packe Arms during the 1800s. His dedication to this endeavour is etched in history, as evidenced by the date stone proudly displayed above the front entrance of the establishment. Engraved with the year "1831" and the initials "C.J.P.," this stone serves as a lasting testament to his enduring legacy and commitment to preserving the heritage of The Packe Arms.

Embrace the ever-evolving seasonal menus available Monday through Saturday at The Packe Arms. Here, the skilled chefs curate a delicious selection of new dishes that encapsulate the essence of the season. From the fresh smoked mackerel pâté to a summery strawberry bellini trifle, the choices are as diverse as the changing seasons. While you contemplate your culinary options, consider enhancing your dining experience with mixed olives, stone-baked garlic flatbread, or a basket of sourdough bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for the table.

Leave room for dessert at The Packe Arms, where you can indulge in beloved classics such as the decadent sticky toffee pudding bathed in custard, a mango and passion fruit pavlova adorned with billowing whipped cream, tropical mango, passion fruit coulis, and generous white chocolate chunks. For those who simply can't decide, opt for a trio of desserts—a sumptuous vanilla crème brûlée, a luscious chocolate fondant crowned with honeycomb ice cream, and a tantalising mango & passion fruit torte. It's a sweet conclusion to a memorable dining experience.
